Yes! OKKO is designed to be simple and clear, and has been co-designed with people living with AMD and who use smartphones. Our average user is 78 years old. You’ll get step-by-step instructions, and your doctor’s team can help you get started.

Macular conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can change suddenly. Becoming an OKKO member helps:

It only takes a few minutes. Your doctor will recommend how often, but most patients test a few times a week.

No. OKKO does not replace clinic visits or eye scans (OCTs). It is an extra layer of safety between your visits. You still need to see your eye doctor as scheduled.

If OKKO detects something unusual in your test results, your clinic is notified and you will be notified. You will also have access to your own results through your app. Upon notification, your doctor’s team will then decide whether to bring you in for a check-up or an urgent visit.

Yes. OKKO is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a Class I medical device and is CE-marked in the UK and EU. It meets strict safety and privacy standards.

Absolutely. Your data is encrypted (kept safe) and can only be seen by your eye doctor’s team. It is never sold or shared with third parties. You can read more about this on our privacy policy.

In many cases, your insurance will cover OKKO as part of your doctor’s care. Some clinics use Medicare or other programs called remote patient monitoring. Your doctor’s office will explain if there are any costs to you.
